Intermetallic compounds formed by Pr and Co are of specific interest regarding their outstanding magnetic properties and magnetic phenomena such as spin reorientation, spin compensation and non-collinear sublattice magnetization. In particular, the high saturation magnetization of PrCo5 combined with magnetic ordering temperature in excess of room temperature due to its excellent applicability as high performance permanent magnets in phases with large uniaxial magnetocrystalline anisotropy.
