A detailed assessment of the Cu-Yb system by [1994Sub] essentially summarizes the information acquired from literature up to 1986. As a result a phase diagram was presented comprising five binary compounds. This phase diagram is still valid as reports that appeared after 1986 merely addressed the crystal structures of YbCu₅ [1996He], Yb₂Cu₉ [1996Cer1, 1996Cer2], Yb₂Cu₇ [1996Cer1] and of YbCu [1997Bel].
