Literature Data

A number of thermodynamic assessments for the Cr-V system appeared in literature [1982Smi, 1989Kau, 1991Oka, 1992Lee]. The phase diagram in [Mas2], based on [1982Smi], showing a distinct minimum in both the solidus and liquidus, is however, in disagreement with experimental work of [1969Rud] and [1985Koc]. The system was modelled later by [1992Lee] to give a solidus and liquidus closer to these experimental data, but in a recent assessment of the Cr-V-Ti system [1999Lee], the same author reverted to the description given in [1982Smi] for the Cr-V system claiming close agreement with liquidus and solidus points, calculated using early experimental vapour pressure data of [1964Ald...
