Introduction

The literature data up to 1981 are reviewed in [1982Kub]. A subsequent review [1993Kat] covers the literature data up to 1992 (the intermediate review of [1992Rag]). General agreement with earlier data concerning the form of the phase diagram and the number of solid phases was shown. Subsequently, the Al-Fe system has been studied by several techniques over different temperature and composition ranges, which are listed in Table 1. Many of the studies concern details of the B2 and D03 ordering and phase equilibria between αFe (A2), FeAl (B2) and Fe3Al (D03), Table 2.
