Since the study of the Ti-rich corner of the Al-Ti-W system [1973Ole] there is only a limited amount of new experimental data on phase equilibria [1991Spa, 1998Has, 2000Kai, 2012Has] (Table 1). All these studies focus on alloys in a composition range of 40-60 at.% Al above 1000°C because of their application in industry. Since W is known to improve the creep and oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures a lot of research has been done on high-temperature mechanical properties and microstructure evolution, which is summarized in reviews [2000Ram, 2003Fra, 2014Gup]. In addition, especially in the 1990s computational work [1993Rub, 1998Woo] has been done.
