Introduction

The phase diagram of this system has been studied in detail [1958Kor] and [1974Sob] (Table 1). The β alloys of the Mo-Nb-Ti system are potential candidates for biomedical applications [2014Alm] due to their unique combination of mechanical properties, such as, non-toxicity, low Young’s modulus, high strength, good fatigue resistance, good ductility and excellent corrosion resistance [2012Gab]. In addition, some ternary alloys exhibit shape memory behavior [2010Alz], superelastic [2012Alz], and superconducting properties [1970Sad...
