Over the last many years several researchers have investigated the Al-Cu-Ni system due to the interest in thermoelastic martensitic transformation exhibited by certain alloys of this system. This property is responsible for the unique mechanical behavior of these alloys such as shape memory effect, superplasticity and stress-induced martensitic transformations.
