Introduction

The Al-Co-Fe system had been critically evaluated by [2019Kum]. Since then, three substantial investigations of the phase equilibria were published [2020Wan, 2020Zhu, 2022Wan] and three thermodynamic descriptions appeared [2019Ost, 2021Noo, 2022Wan]. [2020Wan] investigated phase equilibria among (αδFe), (Fe,Co)Al, and (γFe,Co) on the Fe-Co side of the system up to an Al content of 40 at.%. From sixteen diffusion couples and equilibrated alloys analyzed by EPMA and XRD, they established partial isothermal sections at 900, 1000, 1100, and 1200°C. In addition, two partial vertical sections between 600 and 1400°C were established through HT-XRD and DTA investigations. [2022Wan] extended their previous investigation of the Fe-Co side of the system by studying eighteen samples quenched from 800°C. They also inv...
