H - Th (Hydrogen - Thorium)

Condensed Phases

A solid solution of hydrogen in thorium, and two hydrides with nominal formula ThH2 and Th4H15 are present in the H-Th system. ThH2 has a tetragonal structure with lattice parameters a = 0.410 nm and c = 0.503 nm; Th4H15 has a cubic structure with lattice parameter a = 0.911 nm [62Wol, 76Fro]. The dependence on temperature and pressure of the solubility of hydrogen in thorium is expressed by the equation [62Pet, 76Fro]:
