Condensed Phases

The elements are practically immiscible in the solid state. Three liquid solutions exist in the Co-Se system (on the Co side (L₁), cobalt selenide based (L₂) and on the Se side (L₃)). Cobalt forms the selenides: Co₉Se₈, CoSe_1.03, CoSe_1.13, CoSe_1.30 and CoSe₂. The composition and crystal structure of cobalt selenides are listed in Table 1.
