Condensed Phases

A detailed review of the nitrogen solubility in solid modifications of iron and liquid iron was given earlier [87Wri, 91Sat]. In Fig. 1 the maximum solubility of nitrogen in α-Fe is drawn based on experimental data of 13 authors [87Wri]. The solubility of nitrogen in α-, γ-, and δ-Fe at 105 Pa, based on experimental work from 9 authors, is shown in Fig. 2 [87Wri].
