Condensed Phases. Projection of the Maximum Solubility Lines on the T-x Plane

Cadmium forms one sulfide CdS which has several allotropic modifications [Mas]. A detailed review of the crystal structures of these modifications and the conditions over which they can exist is presented in the handbook by [79Wol]. The limited sulfur solubility in liquid cadmium and the scheme of the equilibria between the condensed phases are shown in the projection of the maximum solubility lines on the temperature-composition plane, see Fig. 1, [Mas].
