Mn - Si (Manganese - Silicon)

Condensed Phases

Silicon dissolves in the different manganese modifications in large quantities: 6 at.% at 635 °C in α-Mn, 16.7 at.% at 1000 °C in β-Mn, ~2.8 at.% at 1155 °C in γ-Mn and less than 1 at.% at 1205 °C in δ-Mn. The solubility of Mn in solid Si is very small.
