Ni - Zn (Nickel - Zinc)

Condensed Phases

The maximum solid solubility of zinc in nickel is 39.4 at.% which occurs at 1040 °C. At 0 °C the solid solubility is approximately 27 at.%. The solid solubility of nickel in zinc is very small and has the values of 0.03; 0.01 and 0.007 at.% at 400 °C, 240 °C and 100 °C respectively, [87Nas]. The following additional solid phases are stable in the Ni-Zn system: β, β1, γ and δ-phases exist. The compositions and crystal structures of these phases are listed in Table 1 [87Nas].
