The binary systems Au-Sn is accepted as given in [Mas2] except for the Au-rich part (up to 26 at.% Sn) that was adopted according to [1985Leg, 1987Leg] (Fig. 1). [1985Leg] and [1987Leg] reported two peritectic reactions, L + (Au) ↔ β at 532°C and L + β ↔ ζ at 519°C. (Au) and the liquid phases involved in the first and second reactions contain 7.1, 21.5, and 21.8 at.% Au, respectively. The γ phase was also found [1985Leg, 1987Leg] to form peritectoidally as ζ + AuSn ↔ γ at ~175°C (Fig. 1).
