Literature data up 1985 are given in the review by [1986Gsc1, 1986Gsc2]. No phase diagram has been constructed for the As-Y system, and only one yttrium arsenide YAs is known. In [1974Tay] the lattice parameters of the YAs compound were investigated by powder X-ray analysis. Alloys were prepared by vapour-solid reaction of pure elements at 600°C. The crystal structures of the solid phases are given in Table 1. The density measured for Y_1.013As_0.953 at 25°C was 5.496 g•cm^-3.
