A critical assessment of the Eu-Mg system by [1988Nay] essentially summarised the phase relations reported by [1969Mue]. The observation of a further compound EuMg₄ by [1989Zan] prompted an attempt to revise the phase diagram recently reassessed by [1992Oka]. A reinvestigation of the crystal structure of EuMg₅ was since performed by [1997Mue]. Experimental information since [1988Nay] is compiled in Table 1.
