A critical assessment of this system has been published in [1980Bre]. Literature data up to 1985 are given in the review by [1987Oka]. The solubility of molybdenum in gold was determined by X-ray methods at temperatures between 20°C and 1063°C. The maximum solid solubility of Mo in (Au) is about 1.25 at.% at the eutectic temperature (1054°C). The solidus temperature of an alloy with 0.1 at.% Mo was detected to be 1058°C [1953Gea]. The phase diagram of this system from [Mas2] is accepted here (Fig.1). The crystal structure data are given in Table 1. No experimental thermodynamic data are available for Au-Mo binary system.
