The system is investigated in a number of works which are reviewed in Table 1. [1992Gri] prepared Li-Sm alloys by arc melting the pure components (Li of 99.5 mass.% and Sm of 99.77 mass.% purity) in a purified Ar atmosphere. The composition of some samples was controlled by atomic-adsorption analysis. Specimens were annealed at 470 K for at least 8600 h in Ta containers placed to evacuated silica ampoules.
