Cu – I (Copper – Iodine)

Volodymyr Ivanchenko, Ibrahim Ansara

Literature Data

No phase diagram is available for the Cu-I system. Accordingly to a semi-empirical prediction of [1968Gul] the melting point of copper is lowered by about 0.1°C by adding about 0.01 at.% I. The maximum solubility of iodine in solid (Cu) is about 10-4 to 10-5 at.%. The melting point of CuI is 602°C [1995Reg].
