Partial Al-Sm phase diagram was presented in the assessment by [1989Gsc]. More recently [1990Kon] studied the Al-rich part (0-5 at.% Sm) and [1998Sac] the remaining part of the composition range (Table 1). Selected calorimetric measurements and a thermodynamic optimization of the complete system were also performed by [1998Sac]. The metastable extension of the Sm solid solubility has been studied by [1995Nin].
