Literature data on the Ag-Se binary system up to 1984 are given in the review of [1990Kar]. Subsequently only two works were devoted to the investigations of this system (Table 1). Only one compound Ag2Se exists, which has two polymorphs. The structural data of the low-temperature phase are contradictory and some explicitness in this problem was introduced by [1994Oka]. The solubility of Se in (Ag) is very limited (< 0.27 at.%) and there are no reported measurements of Ag solubility in (Se) [Mas2]. The homogeneity ranges of αAg2Se between 1 and 125°C and βAg2Se between 139 and 500°C have been determined by [1980Bon, 1981Bon] using the electronic and electrogalvanic investigations of silver selenide polycrystalline samples whose non-stoichiometry was controlled by annealing ...
