No phase diagram of the As-Ba system was published in the literature. Available literature data up to 1981 are reviewed in [Mas2]. No relevant work on the As-Ba system has been published since 1981. Five binary compounds have been identified. The BaAs₃ alloys were synthesized in sealed quartz ampoule containing a corundum crucibles with pure elements (As of 99.999 wt.% and Ba of 99.9 wt.% purity) at a ratio 1:1 at interval temperature 400-1000C [1981Bau]. The stoichiometrical composition BaAs_3.09 was established by chemical analysis (AAS, FES). For other compounds alloys were synthesized by melting of pure elements at ratios 3:1 for Ba₂As at 1200C, 1:1 for Ba₅As₃ at 700C and 1:4 Ba₃As₁₄ at 800C.
