Literature Data

Literature data up to 1990 in a T-x plane, p-x plane for H-Ta system are given in the review by [1991San]. Subsequently the H-Ta system has been studied by several experimental techniques, and these results are listed in Table 1. The formation of hydrides, phase diagram, diffusion data, thermodynamic data, resistivity data and other related mechanical properties of H-Ta system has been reviewed recently by [1996Sch]. This system exhibits seven intermetallic compounds namely, γ, β, θ, η, ζ, δ and γ with wide ranges of homogeneity. In addition, random solid solution of H in bcc (Ta) which is designated as (αTa) up to 33.3 at.% H concentration and (αʹTa) for concentrations greater than 33.3 at.% H exist in the phase diagram.
