A review of experimental investigations of the phase equilibria, crystal structures, thermodynamic properties and evaluations of the Cu-Mg system has been made by [1994Nay] covering literature data up to 1984. Subsequently the Cu-Mg system was studied by several techniques which are listed in Table 1. [1993Gin] reported atomic parameters as refined from single crystal X-ray diffraction of CuMg₂ and discussed the structural relationship between the structure types CuMg₂, NiMg₂ and CuAl₂.
