The ternary compounds K2AgAs [77Sav] and K3Ag3As2 [79Sav] were prepared by heating stoichiometric mixtures of the elements in a silver crucible in an argon atmosphere. For the K2AgAs sample, a surplus of 10% K was used with respect to its evaporation. The mixture was heated up to 600°C for 24 h and slowly cooled down [77Sav]. The K3Ag3As2 sample was heated up to 700°C and cooled down to room temperature by 100 K•d-1 [79Sav]. The crystal structure was determined from Weißenberg and precession photographs.
