Knowledge of this system is confined to lattice parameter measurements and stacking fault probabilities in the Ag-rich region [70Rhe]. Results by [70Rhe] point to similarities between the Ag-Cd-Pd and Cu-Ni-Zn systems. Eighty Ag-20(Cd+Pd) alloys consist of a single fcc phase. Alloys were prepared from high-purity silver (99.9999%), cadmium (99.999%) and palladium (99.995%). About 3 g were melted for 1 h in sealed silica tubes under argon and subsequently water quenched. Samples were re-encapsulated, homogenized for 7 days at 750°C and water quenched. The alloys were cold worked (filing at room temperature), resealed, annealed for 1 h at 750°C and then quenched.
