Introduction

The liquid state immiscibility between Al and Tl extends into the ternary field. One tie-line has been measured. The low density and high density liquid layers were separated and the Ag concentrations were determined by chemical gravimetric analysis [24Tam]. At a temperature of 700±0.5°C there is a concentration of 9.94 mass% Ag in the upper layer and a concentration of 33 mass% Ag in the lower layer. The distribution coefficient of the Ag concentration between the two liquids in the miscibility gap was found to be 30.1. There is a misprint in the compilation book [76Mon], so the original work was examined and the above mentioned results were revealed.
