Introduction

The ternary intermetallic phase CeAgSn was prepared by melting the metals enclosed, under an argon atmosphere, in a tantalum vessel in an induction furnace, and annealing at 500°C for one week. The materials used had a purity of around 99.9% for the rare earth metals and of around 99.99% for the other metals [81Maz].
