Introduction

The ternary compound Ag2Si2Bi was prepared by melting the constituent elements in an alumina crucible under argon at 1300°C for 1-2 h and was studied by X-ray diffraction [74Laz]. The specimens were found to be single phase. The density is 8.322 g cm-3 as calculated from the X-ray data and 8.45 g cm-3 as measured.
