Introduction

Using thermoanalytical methods the temperatures where crystallization begins within the quasibinary section AgBr-CdBr2 were determined by [51Zak] (Fig. 1). Supercooling of the alloys during the decrease of the temperature was neglected. Compared to other concentration ranges, a characteristic thermal expansion behavior in the range of 60 to 80 mass% AgBr indicates formation of a ternary compound.
