Introduction

There exists only one very old investigation [92Wri] on the liquid-liquid immiscibility region in ternary Ag-Al-Bi alloys at temperatures between 830 and 900°C. For 20 alloys the low density and high density layers were separated and the concentrations of Ag, Al and Bi determined by gravimetric analysis. The purity of Al was only 95-98 mass% Al.
