The liquidus surface in the Al-rich corner of the system has been established by thermal analysis [25Got] (Fig. 1). The eutectic three-phase equilibria L + Ag2Al + (Al) and L + (Al) + (Si) were drawn as a continuous eutectic three-phase equilibrium. These two equilibria and the three-phase equilibrium Ag2Al + (Al) + (Si) at low temperatures [77Str] would necessarily be connected by a ternary eutectic reaction L↔Ag2Al + (Al) + (Si). A ternary eutectic temperature of about 550°C can be concluded from thermal analysis [25Got].
