Introduction

Published work has concentrated on the ordering reactions between AgCd and AuCd and no data exist that give an overall view of the ternary equilibria. [62Rot] established the presence of a Heusler-type phase, AgAuCd2, by X-ray diffraction analysis and residual resistivity measurements. The residual resistivity data were obtained for the alloy series Ag50-xAuxCd50 and Ag52.5-xAuxCd47.5. A parabolic relation between residual resistivity and at.% Ag was observed except for a pronounced minimum in the region of equal Ag and Au contents. This is suggestive of ordering.
