Introduction

The entire system was studied by Gebhardt and Petzow with 95 high purity alloys using thermal, metallographic, microhardness and X-ray analyses [59Geb]. The liquidus surface with isotherms, the monovariant curves and the invariant reaction points are shown in Fig. 1. Eight temperature/concentration sections and two isothermal sections at 600 and 500°C (Fig. 2 and Fig. 3) were constructed and a reaction scheme was proposed (Fig. 4). The existence of a solid solution between β'-AgSn and β'-AgCd reported by [42Moe] was confirmed.
