The liquid immiscibility region, starting at the binary Fe-Ag system, was partially investigated at 1600°C by chemical analysis of the two liquid layers formed in equilibrium [55Chi, 65Vac]; the two papers agree fairly well. Values of the silver solubility in iron-rich Ag-Al-Fe melts at 1550°C [79Bur] are consistent with the findings for the Fe-Ag system [H, E]. The aluminium solubility at 1550°C has a critical point at 24 at.% Al [79Koz], whereas the paper of [79Bur] indicates a much higher aluminium solubility.
