Two groups of compounds were studied in this system: CeAgMg [94Ian] and Ce(AgxMg1-x)3 in the range 0≤x≤0.75 [88Ber] employing X-ray powder diffractometry at room temperature [88Ber, 94Ian], metallographic inspection [88Ber, 94Ian], DTA [88Ber], chemical analyses and pyknometric density measurements [88Ber]. The formation of a Cu3Au-type superstructure was mentioned by [67Chr] without further details. [88Ber, 94Ian] prepared the alloys by induction melting in a sealed Ta-crucible starting from the pure metals. The Ta-crucibles, sealed in iron crucibles [94Ian] or in quartz ampoules [88Ber] under argon, were then annealed at 700°C for 240 h [94Ian] or in the range from 535 to 640°C during 10 to 80 hrs [88Ber], respectively.
