Using microstructure, X-ray and thermal analysis, Laves and Moeller [37Lav] investigated 21 alloys along the section Mg-AgCd3(δ) to demonstrate continuous solid solubility between the element and the Hume-Rothery type phase. Additionally, [37Lav] showed that the transformation of the disordered solid solution to the ordered MgCd phase (δ) appears at about 283°C in the ternary, 30 K above the transformation of the pure binary phase. [71Abd] presume an unlimited solid solubility of the CsCl-type structures AgMg-AgCd without experimental proof. Zarechnyuk and Kinzhibalo [78Zar] X-ray analyzed 26 alloys at 600, 500, 400 and 300°C, confirming the existence of the solid solutions Mg-AgCd3, AgMg-AgCd above 400°C and a wide range of Mg solubility in Ag5Cd8 (γ/γ'). ...
