Introduction

As would be anticipated from the constituent binary systems, Ag-Au-Ge system contains a ternary monovariant eutectic curve originating at the Ag-Ge binary eutectic at 650°C and ending at the Au-Ge binary eutectic at 361°C. The ternary three-phase reaction L ↔ (Ag, Au) + (Ge) involves the deposition of the (Ag, Au) solid solution and of (Ge) containing minute proportions of Ag and Au [64Zwi] and [85Has].
